Kubernetes Master Class: Bringing Istio to Production

Istio can be a powerful tool in the right hands, provided you understand how to bring it into a full production environment. In a webinar co-hosted with Rancher, we explain how you can do exactly that – the journey, from start to finish, along with how Istio differs from your testing environments.

At Root Level Technology, we consider ourselves more than simply a web host. We’re a partner to our clients, committed to helping them reach their full potential through our hosting services. But more than that, we’re a teacher and educator – both for our customer base and for the industry beyond.

It’s why we so regularly host events like the Houston Cloud 2.0 Meetup and attend conferences such as Houstex. It’s why we’re so keen on initiatives like Code Platoon, founded to help veterans break into the oft-daunting field of Information Technology, and it’s why we’re constantly on the lookout for new ways to share our expertise.

Because we recognize that, as we approach a future where everything is being brought online, businesses and professionals can no longer operate in isolation from one another. We need to work together – not just to protect one another from increasingly-complex cyberattacks, but to foster true innovation. Collaboration is the only way forward.

That’s why we’re pleased to announce a new digital training course, co-hosted by Root Level Technology Senior Cloud Architect Braden Wright and Rancher Head of Product Management Ankur Agarwal. Titled Kubernetes Masterclass: Bringing Istio to Production, it serves as a walkthrough of the challenges and pitfalls involved in bringing the service mesh into production. It’s also a follow-up to Rancher’s previous webinars on the topic.

Over the course of the session, we’ll discuss the operational aspects of Istio and application connectivity. We’ll demonstrate how to use multiple gateways, offer guidance on using SSL with providers such as LetsEncrypt, and show the DNS configuration process for Istio. Finally, we’ll explain how Istio can be used to connect to services outside of your cluster.

An industry-leading platform for running containers and Kubernetes in production, Rancher was founded in 2014 to provide businesses with an easy means of open-source container management. It has more than 100 employees with offices in San Francisco, Tempe, New York, London, Amsterdam, Shanghai, Tokyo, and Sydney. It’s a recognized industry leader – and one Root Level Technology is proud to partner with on this webinar.

The challenges of the modern enterprise space are such that no one organization can tackle them all. Experts and industry leaders have a responsibility to share their knowledge and expertise with one another. A responsibility to help everyone move towards a more secure, efficient, connected future.

The session will be hosted on June 4, 2019, at 1 PM EST. You can register here.
